Silk laminate is a thin soft-touch film applied over the printed card; it mutes reflections and gives the surface a smooth, almost fabric-like feel. Adding spot UV over the laminate creates a deliberate contrast — glossy shapes floating on a velvety ground. The laminate also seals the card, so edges and corners hold up better to handling than an unlaminated finish.
