Foam board is a polystyrene core faced with paper on both sides — the 3/16" construction being the common signage weight. It is extremely light, cuts cleanly to any shape and holds a printed graphic well, which makes it the standard for temporary interior display. It dents under pressure and softens in damp, so it belongs indoors and for short runs of use.
