Dimensional foam letters are cut from block foam and mounted on standoffs so they sit away from the wall and cast a shadow — the shadow being most of the effect. Foam keeps large letters light enough to hang without structural fixings, and the faces can be painted or laminated. It is an interior treatment; the material is not made for weather.
