Corrugated plastic — coroplast — is a fluted polypropylene board, essentially cardboard in plastic form: hollow channels between two skins give it rigidity at almost no weight. It shrugs off rain and sun, which is why it became the default for yard signs and short-run outdoor use. The flutes run in one direction, and stakes push straight into them, so orientation is chosen with mounting in mind.
