A step-and-repeat is a backdrop whose graphic tiles a logo across the whole surface, so any crop of any photograph taken in front of it contains branding. The repeat interval and scale are set for how far back cameras stand. A matte or fabric surface is preferred because a glossy one throws flash straight back into the lens.
